Flames decline. This at best makes their cap situation slightly worse while not actually improving anything on the roster

The leafs would just keep kerfoot. Hes better than Highmore and ferland would cost the canucks to dump.
Both of those factors are worth more than a 4th on their own, by a lot

This honestly sounds like nothing more than pure anti-Leafs than anything.

The Vancouver deal: are you kidding me? Rutherford takes that and absolutely sprints off. Highmore is a AHL tweeter guy, and Ferland is LTIR space. Kerfoot has extremely more value than this and even if you don’t like the player, you take that deal and flip Kerfoot for his actual value. Not taking a deal like this would not only get you fired but it’d get you run outta the league.

The Calgary deal: I understand the cap issues surround the deal, those can be figured out with other moves. But come on, the actual deal. Nylander is better than Mangipane (don’t deny it, he is). Nylander showed how completely dominant offensively he can be. & with Gaudreau likely leaving Calgary Nylander would be the perfect replacement for him. & then Sandin is thrown in as well? That’s a steal of a deal. Again, I get the cap constraints but when you’re getting that much more value you take the deal and make the cap work. It’s not hard to move money around in the league, just call Arizona.

Highmore has been useful for us, no sense on taking the cap in Kerfoot when he'd be playing 4th line here assets and cap can be used elsewhere
