Kings aren't interested in any more prospects, if they move their young guys it will be to get established ones. I think the Toronto - Kings trade partnership doesn't work now that our compete window is starting to open.

Edmonton declines. They have no cap space.

So would you rather have Muzzin back?

Sandin isn't really a prospect anymore though.

No, we would rather reup Edler than Muzzin. Not a knock on Muzzin, more that his injuries don't justify his contract any longer (in my opinion).

I wouldn't say he's established himself as a goal scorer yet either which is what the Kings are looking for with a botom-6 of: Vilardi, Kupari, Byfield, Kaliyev, Grundstrom and Lizotte.

Tons of upside, but still haven't hit their stride, like Sandin.

Are we talking about 2 different guys here? Sandin is a defenceman lol.

He was one of Toronto’s best players in the series against TBL. He had more ice time than Nylander and Tavares. Only Matthews, Marner, Brodie, and Reilly had more. But I hear you.

Ok but this would be the fleece of the century. Roy is solid but Sandin has far, far more value. Sandin arguably was better in the time he played this year (one of the best statistical d men in generating offence), and will certainly be better next year. Vilardi doesn’t have an insane amount of value. A first on top of this? This would be horrible for Toronto, that would be like trading Turcotte and a 1st for Alex Kerfoot and Justin Holl

My friend @tryger was talking about the first. We'd take Sandin for Vilardi, and might add Grans if pressed.

Sorry I meant more that the Kings are established with great prospects but need steadiness to go further in playoff runs.

It's Kings hockey, shut down defensemen are our bread and butter, and Roy is one of the best and we have no prospect like him other than Faber who isn't going pro next season.

On the right side the Kings have offense-oriented defensemen in: Clarke, Durzi, Spence, and Grans. What they need is a top-established LD who is a true defensive defenseman to address our abysmal penalty kill. On the left side we have Anderson who can eat minutes, and Bjornfot who can barely eat 3rd pair minutes. What the Kings need is an established LD who can shut down like Edler did for us, long-term.

Muzzin's injuries mean no one will take 5.6M x 2. Well maybe Edm and Holland since we have the keith trade
