I will never understand the obsession of trading Nylander for inferior players.

Not a flyers fan, but i am pretty sure they keep the player that 1) is cheaper, 2) has term on his contract, and 3) actually fits their system.

Both teams decline. Leafs get worse and Flyers get older. farabee has potential to be better than Nylander, but it is unlikely

He’s overall a better player than Nylander but Nylander is better in the O zone. Granted at Farabee age it was close

Well you better get used to it, the Leafs need cap to sign a goalie and other player, so it's best that Nylander is traded. Don't think the Leafs should trade for a 5m cap player though.

Fact is you could make the case that trading Marner opens up far more space though. Funny that 6.9mil Nylander is viewed as the odd man out, but almost 11mil Marner isn;t the tradeable commodity this summer.

Not a fan of trading either BUT I think its simple that you'd get far more in trade AND have far more cap space by trading Marner.

Yep, I won't mind the 11m Marner being traded either. As difficult as it to trade 7m Nylander with no cap coming back, I think Marner is a tougher trade...even with just 4m being returned to the Leafs.
