You definitely need to do something about that defence. The right side is terrible

For now, it's not ideal, no. The Hughes-Schenn pairing did alright this season though, and OEL-Lyubushkin were mostly solid in Arizona. We're stuck with Myers, but he should be somewhat effective on a sheltered third pairing. Nemec gives us our RD of the future, whether he plays with Quinn or on the second pair. We're not going to contend next season anyways, and I think this D is at least good enough not to singlehandedly tank our playoff chances.

Tbh, I don't really see the point for them either. But I saw some rumours about this and the value seems fair to me.

They paid Hughes, hischier and Hamilton, Miller needs a new contract and is almost 30

Tbh I can’t see the Devils dealing no. 2 overall for 1yr of Miller. It would need to come with an extension at a rate they feel comfortable.

Projected no. 2 overall pick Slafvkosky is projected to be significantly better than Miller. Not a jab at Miller and how elite he is but Slafvkosky is projected to be better

Lyubushkin is not top four caliber. Waste of a contract just keep Poolman

What a terrible trade for Jersey, one year of Miller isn't worth the 2nd overall. Homerism at it's worse.

I see 3 3rd pair defenceman. Lyubushkin would supplant Schenn for sure but none of them are capable of handling top opposition
