I don't even get the immediate swapping of Dvorak to Buffalo for a 6th. Zucker is easier to move for cap space and Dvorak still has good value. For all the bad press he got this year, he was widely viewed as being worth what Montreal paid last offseason and just had the most productive season on a P/60 and points per game basis of his career.

Pettersson, Kapanen for 3rd

First, sign and trades aren't a thing.

Pettersson will get a 2nd alone from Detroit.

What would you say is a good comp for MP? Let’s not forget he’s been benched multiple times (~16 min D 4M AAV). Not a ton of leverage, really.

I would do the deal as written a sixth round pick.
I understand that he would block the progress of several young players but he would add depth to the team and while it was an over pay, he did fetch a first from Montreal last year.
More to the point, Dvorak has proven he can score about 18 goals a year playing for teams that struggle to score, he would help Buffalo reach the cap floor, he can PK and he would be Buffalo's best FO center.

Did he flip flop, I misread it, thought he had Zucker going to Buffalo

I am looking at a post that has Zucker to Montreal for Dvorak then Dvorak to Buffalo for a sixth.
I presume you view them both as cap casualties.

Well when I first saw it, I thought it had Zucker to Buffalo for a 4th. To me Zucker is a dump. Dvorak I actually like, wanted Buffalo to get him last year.
