Any interest in Zadina what would it cost

Created by: Jupa08

Description
What would Detroit want for Zadina and how much do people think he would get on an extension? Young player with a lot of talent that maybe with the right players could become a key piece in a retool. Just a thought.

Mild interest. Detroit fans will want the world. Any team trying to compete should be a buyer at a 3rd and a 4th. Maybe a 2nd.

2023 Second and a meh prospect (Lauko?) is the max I’d offer.

Zadina isn't a need for this team, I'd rather put any trade assets into a legit centre (unless my read on Zadina is wrong and people think he is one, I don't watch much detroit hockey)

I wouldn’t unless they trade pastrnak.

Btw, if you use the quote function, posters will get a notification that you responded to them. Its a very useful tool.

Zadina is hard. He is a boom or bust. Shows flashes but isnt going to be a guy to carry a line. Truthfully Id probably skip on a second since its going to be in the 50's.. If your dumping Reilly, I MIGHT be open to a Reilly & Debrusk for Zadina. I think i would rather see how Zadina fares and reacts to a new coach first. Could be a spark or could signal for a move (and less than what he could fetch now)... Lots of unknown here.

Why would they trade him for a 3rd or 4th that has minimal odds (sub 10%) of playing 100 games in the NHL? Define the world. As it would have to benefit Detroit and makes sense for our rebuild. Lias Andersson returned a second.

Zadina is an unknown quantity right now. He has qualities in his game and plays well but seems unable to score. I don't think Yzerman is willing to trade him until he sees how he fares under a new coach/system. So unless you're proposing to give us Fabian Lysell straight up or something equally good then Detroit is likely to say no thanks for now.

The B´s must achieve one of three things this post season...
    - Raise total value of team by signing a quality free agent!
    - Improve team for another run (with Bergy)!
    - Get hold of picks for a future rebuild (1Confusedt and 2:nd rounders)
... however nice the Zadina suggestion might be, does this really solve any of the above adequately???

    They shouldn’t.

Why should teams trying to compete trade more for a player that isn’t good?

Yeah well Yzerman isn't selling low on Zadina so we pass.

Zadina has very little to no value currently, Yzerman will only package him a bigger part for either a Top 4 LD or 2C.

He’s only played under one HC and can still develop so you’d be paying for that. If the Boston FO didn’t believe in that then they wouldn’t trade for him.

Right. My comment was specifically about teams trying to compete….so I’ll ask again, why should teams trying to compete trade more for a player that isn’t good?

So I’ll state it again, if Boston believes he will be better under a different HC/line-mates/etc.
