Los Angeles isn't interested in this effort to shed significant cap.

Absolutely no interest in installing Jake Muzzin 2.0 even if he would waive his NTC, plus we could re-sign Alex Edler for less than Jake's cap hit, and we would probably get the same results without having to expend assets to re-acquire Muzz. Will you Toronto guys please stop doing this? It's like the Montreal guys with their silly Jeff-Petry-to-Detroit trades.

Texier is worth at least a first according to the rumors from last year's deadline. Kerfoot by himself is not going to cut it to get Texier. Add decent picks/prospects without Kerfoot being the main attraction and that gets you around the top of the list for the Texier bidding war if he goes on the market.
