I don't see Ottawa biting on that trade. They don't need a bottom 6 centreman or a LD. If the team is trading 7OA, it's for a top 6 winger or top 4 defenceman. The team has made it clear that picks and prospects are in play in exchange for roster improvements. I think this is fair compensation, but it doesn't suit the needs for Ottawa at the moment.
