Wilson is out 6-8 months, If you want more toughness, couldn't you go a cheaper route and get a Reeves or someone like that without losing Nylander?

You could, but that wouldn't benefit the top of the lineup. I'm not a fan of Wilson trades, but pretty sure this isn't about signing another 4th line tough guy.

That Isles trade is bad, bad bad. I'd rather have Beau with the extra year of term and 3 years of youth than Kerfoot - Alex probably turns back into his previous 35-40 point production when he's not on a line with Tavares & Nylander anymore, and at that point he's basically matching what Beau puts up. I think you can argue that value-wise, it's a wash at best.

So that leaves the rest of the trade as Varlamov (with $1M retained) for Muzzin, a 2nd three drafts away, and a 5th next year. No thanks - the Isles can get a better package for Varly with retention elsewhere and find a competent LD2 that's *not* coming off a year with concussion issues in UFA.
