If you don't want anyone to "take it serious", why even publish it? Just create the team and leave it unpublished...

Zero chance Detroit gives up the picks for an aging, rental goalie.

I'm pretty sure every other team not named the Islanders easily pass too.

Isles would not do the WPG or MIN trades.

Sucks you have to work so early on a Saturday. Now Varlamov is 34 and a UFA at the end of next season and since Detroit isn't a playoff team yet I don't see them giving up any assets for 1yr of him.

Winnipeg one is kind of interesting starting point, jets would need to move a left handed dman along with ehlers, and need a offensive forward back, possibly a Center if there’s a scheifele trade also. I agree straight up wouldn’t get it done.

Probably a interesting market for him, not having to add any years or guarantees to contract. Possibly not detroit, but Buffalo, Edmonton, possibly jersey might have some interest, possibly detroit or ottawa, basically an audition. But the price would have to go down.

I agree there are several playoff teams that could benefit from having Varlamov on their roster.

I know this isn't something you can really quantify but I could see Detroit having interest in bringing him in as a backup/mentor for Ned if they think he's going to be their Guy. Varly's done a ton of work helping Sorokin adjust to life in the NHL as a starting goaltender (it helps that they're both Russian and even though he sounds like he is too, Ned is from good ol' Parma, Ohio apparently, so that's not a perk for Detroit) and has a ton of playoff experience. I think he still has value as the 1B half of a tandem for a contender, but I also think that a rebuilding team could find value in him (and then potentially flip him out at the deadline).

I think the value is about what the Islanders should expect back regardless of where he goes, as well.

I took your post to mean that you didn't want feedback, that was my point... This site is all entertainment, so have at it, just be prepared for us to take a little piss outta ya, haha

Cossa is going to be Detroit's guy. Yzerman traded up from the 23rd pick to the 15th pick so he could get Cossa. But for now Ned is the guy. Ned was still Calder eligible this season after finishing 3rd in Calder voting last season so he is still fairly experienced. But with all the young players and prospects that will be making the jump soon Ned is in the perfect spot to grow with the team. As I said Detroit isn't a playoff team yet so there really no need to give up assets to get Varlamov when there are several UFAs Detroit could sign that would fit their needs just fine.

When it comes to Varlamov's value I can't see any team giving up 2 2nd rd picks for him especially since he's a rental. Varlamov is 34 and last season he finished 28th in SV% and 38th in GAA I mean no disrespect but I wouldn't give 1 2nd rd pick for him. But a playoff team looking for a goalie that has a ton of playoff experience would probably pay more to get him.

The name Nedeljkovic is Serbian and not Russian. So there really no connection along those lines.

Detroit passes, Not giving up assets for an aging Goalie in Semyon Varlamov when we can sign a backup for cheap.

And try more like $9,000,000 x 7 years for John Klingberg he's not wasting one year on Long Island.
