Both Nashville and Detroit don't accept those offers.

Detroit declines. Detroit doesn't need an RHD. Detroit is rebuilding and has no use for a 34yr dman. You can't really think Petry is worth Veleno who is 12 years younger and a 2nd that is just absurd. Montreal acquired Petry in his prime for a 2nd (#57) and a 4th (#137) in the 2015 draft.

This is like Detroit trading Gagner for Caufield and a 2nd and yes that is just a ridiculous as Petry for Veleno and a 2nd.

I like the trade ideas with Nashville and Detroit
But I think it will be hard for Nashville to part ways with Glass - so more will need to be added on the MTL side in order to get that done IMO - maybe a 2nd or 3rd plus a prospect (ie. Norlinder).
For Detroit, it would have to be more from MTL as well. More salary retained and again another pick and prospect moving the other way.

and it's going to take a lot more than a 4th for Arizona to eat Weber's cap hit for the next 4 seasons. But since he is basically retired there is no reason to move him just stick him on LTIR.

Honestly I think that value is awful. Weber only gets paid 3m this year then 1M for the 3 after. It wouldn't be a bad idea for Arizona to acquire him. It's basically a fourth to save 6M in actual dollars.

Yeah they aren't paying him the full amount but his cap hit is still $7.9M for each of the next 4 seasons.

Actually, I could see the appeal for Arizona.
They are going to play in a college arena for at least the next 3 years.
Taking on Weber contract helps them reach the salary floor and saves them 25 million of real $ over the next 4 years.
Considering how they won't have much revenues coming in and how many picks they have in the draft, giving a mid round pick to save 25m$ wouldn't be a bad move on their part.

Glass, although he hasn't panned out to this point, still has potential. I doubt Nashville trades him + a pick to get Drouin.
This makes no sense for them.

Detroit picking up Petry also doesn't make much sense.
They aren't in a position to win now. Petry will get traded to a contender if he leaves Montreal.
It also doesn't make sense for Detroit, who have been cleaning up big contracts, to take on one and give up prospects and picks when they are in a rebuild.

Zero chance Detroit is paying any kind of price like that for Petry. They'd want Habs to add something for taking his contract off your hands
