If Bobrovsky and Benn waived

Description
Not saying that it's even remotley likely to happen

Benn has less term than Bobrovsky, and although they lose cap space this year, they gain it over time. Khudobin can serve as a backup to Knight, and his deql only lasts 1 more year. The forward group doesn't take too many steps back, considering how Cap strapped they are. Benn is still a 40 point producer, and maybe he produces more when playing with Barkov. Chara, Murray, and Wideman are added to the defense. Chara had a good season overall with the Isles, and he can be a good locker room presence. Wideman had a lot of offensive potential. Yes he's 32, but just had a nearly 30 point campaign on a rock bottom team as a depth defenseman. He's also a better PowerPlay quarterback than Montour, so he could be a 2nd unit weapon. Murray had a down year with an injury and less playing time on a top tier team, but is a good penalty killer. Gurishnikov had a good WHL season and probably could make his debut after some time in the AHL. Janmark is a good 3rd line winger who can make plays. Playing with Verhaege and Lundell probably increases his point potential. These moves enable the Panthers to contend longer term.

Kinda wishful thinking that Hornqvist Buffalo or any poor team with cap on his trade list. I really don't know of any of the 23 teams on his trade list that has the cap for him.

Yeah i'm sure that Dallas is just dying to have between $14,000,000 to $15,000,000 worth of Goaltenders, Sergei Bobrovsky $10,000,000 and Jake Oettinger between $4,000,000 to $5,000,000 per on his new deal.

And no reason for Patric Hornqvist to waive for Buffalo or any Non-Playoff team.

In addition to the above, you cannot waive someone with a NMC like Bobrovsky.

Dallas definitely passes on that. Oettinger is the guy in Dallas now, and likely gets $4-4.5M/year on a bridge deal. No way the Stars are giving up a prospect and a pick to take Bobrovsky.

    Buf and hornqvist say no
That is a trade DAL should take, They add weegar who has blossomed into a top tier defenseman now. Benn isn’t worth anywhere near his contract right now (neither is bob). Getting weegar is the reason for accepting the trade, I know this would mean allocating a lot of money to the goaltending position but at least DAL gets a quality roster player with bob

Bobrovsky has more value than Benn, and you ignore Weegar, who can pair with Suter forming one of the d-corps in the league

MacKenzie Weegar would be a decent replacement for John Klingberg, But it remains that Dallas isn't going with $14,000,000 to $14,500,000 long term in their Goaltending.

Simply too much money wrapped up in goaltending for Dallas to accept this deal. Sure, Weegar would be a nice add, but not at the cost of $14M+ in goaltending for the next 4 years.

There are other more cost affordable ways for Dallas to get a replacement for Klingberg’s roster spot.
