I did MTL side and people like how the overall team came out with the addition of Kapanen and Zucker to top six. I think its a good trade for both teams

There's very little chance Kapanen plays ahead of Anderson and its unlikely he plays ahead of Gallagher. Zucker is ok as long as Drouin is going the other way. Its not a terrible trade, but at the end of the day it really depends on if there's a guy that's still really high on Montreal's draft list at 21st OA. Otherwise they're better off just keeping their picks. On the Habs side, they're not going to move Allen for a 4th and they aren't going to add a guy like Montour in unless they can't get a UFA vet on a one year deal or a vet with an expiring deal. Montour is also not an ideal fit for a veteran D Petry replacement.

Maybe, but I got a pretty good look at him in Toronto, so I'm skeptical of that. He does fit what HuGo are looking for though.

Most don't get the most basic fundamentals of a rebuild/reset. Montreal finished dead last in the standings this year and has the second biggest cap hit going into the off season. Switching Drouin for Zuck's fine but taking Kapanen along who's due for a substantial raise doesn't make sense or fit under the cap.

With a QO of just over $800,000 and with the season he had (up and down the line-up, a healthy scratch a few times), I don't know how anyone can expect KK to get a "substantial raise." Sure it will likely be a raise from what his base level was, but it should be a reduction from what he actually made last season.
