Wright Price BE NICE read description

Created by: Andy_Dick
Team: 2022-23 Arizona Coyotes
Initial Creation Date: May 31, 2022
Published: May 31, 2022
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Coyotes select with Habs pick, Shane Wright @1
..With Leafs 25th pick they select, Sam Rinzel, 6'4" D that can skate but is a project
Avs late pick, I'll settle for Reid Schaefer, a big physical LW

Arizona will need to pick up more contracts at TDL to meet floor in 2023-24. Drouin/Ritchie/Ladd are coming off the books and could be TDL bait for bad deals coming the other way with picks.

ARI
  1. 2022 1st round pick (MTL)
MTL
  1. Chychrun, Jakob
  2. 2022 1st round pick (ARI)
  3. 2022 1st round pick (CAR)
Additional Details:
Leafs traded a 2nd and a 3rd along with 7th OA in 2008 to move to 5th OA. This is a bigger jump. 1 late 1st is not enough and the Yotes are looking to move Chychrun so why not for the 1stOA that they have been trying all year to fail and achieve
2.
ARI
  1. Weber, Shea
Additional Details:
Yotes keep saving money. Weber makes only 6 million in combined real cash for the next 4 years. Already was in the works last TDL for a pick. This will save Yotes over 27 million dollars.
MTL
  1. Gostisbehere, Shayne
Additional Details:
Habs need a top PP guy instead of Wideman
3.
MTL
  1. 2024 4th round pick (SJS)
Additional Details:
Conditional on Drouin plays in 50% of Coyotes games

I would do it, if I am Montreal tbh. You get Chychrun and late 1st for dropping down from Wright to Cooley/Slafkovsky or you setup you defense for years with one trade after selecting Nemec.

They should do it! Montreal never will tho with draft in Montreal. I'd really love to see it as I think a lot of Habs fans would enjoy the chaos lol

The idea's good but Montreal holds the 2nd biggest cap hit heading into the off season so no way we can replace Wideman with Ghost's salary and add up Chychrun on top.

I get the Wright thing but the difference with cooley or nemec or slafkovsky and Wright is not worth chychrun and a late first. You want to use all those 2nds to move you're late 1sts to middle 1st and take a spec target I'd do that.

The value is way off on all these trades. Leafs aren't giving that to Arizona for Crouse. The price for Arizona to move up is in fact only the 1st (and not CAR's, but COL's). Adding Chychrun to that package isn't in the least close. The price for Gostisbehere is 2x 2nds. Either add that and another pick to Weber's contract, or just give the 2nd rounders. Drouin can be a piece for us to take Weber's contract, and we add a late pick for both.

I think Arizona want to move up. From Bill Armstrong's press conference it was obvious. The price is COL's 1st. Personally I'd just take Cooley or Slavkovsky. The gap isn't that big to be giving up more high picks.

Really? Moving to the premium 1st overall only requires a late pick. Jesus. You call me way off. You're off your rocker!

You clearly arent up to date. The Yotes already offered a pick to take Weber's deal at the TDL but the paperwork for LTIR contract was late. The Habs arent paying to give away Weber's deal. It wasnt a discussion, it was done! I wont even get started on your Ghostbear 2 2nd rounders nonsense.

Why do ppl reply that are clueless?

You are both right lol it really depends on ARI's evaluation of Wright. If they don't don't believe there's that much of a gap between him and Cooley/Slafkovsky, they won't pay a premium or probably wouldn't even try and trade up at all. On the other hand if they do believe there's a significant gap and want to identify Wright as their franchise guy, them attempting to trade for him will let Hughes know that very fact, which would lead ARI having to pay a premium price. so the trade suggested here is probably very close to what they'd have to pay.

Even if they are close with Slaf (trash) Cooley and Wright. The cache of the number 1 goes very far. You only need to go on the draft value chart and take emotion/bias out of it to see he's off his rocker

Not really how that works. I've written this in a few other threads, but you don't pay for the "1st overall pick"...you pay for the player you would be selecting in that spot. There's a difference. Not all 1st overall picks are equal in value, this subsequently applies to all other picks too. Example: Next years 1st overall (Bedard) will be worth far more than this years. To the point where no matter how many premium assets a teams tries to add to the trade, the team holding the 1st pick will refuse everything.
That's why it really depends on ARI's evaluation of Wright compared to the others.

You said it tho. If they are trying to trade for the number 1 pick in this hypothetical then its at a premium! But, THEY DO HAVE INTEREST and Chychrun is on the market. Hughes isnt dumping the number 1 pick for a late pick AND the privilege to be vilified for life in the market! Its absolutely bananas to think a late pick would suffice. Not even worth discussing when that's on the table.

I'm usually never wrong in my trade predictions when it comes to the Coyotes. Not the first time people think like this. We'll see what happens, but I guess everyone can be wrong. After all we are not the ones making the calls.

The 1st is and should be a premium. It isn't this year to the same extent. It's close between the top 3 forwards, even if Wright still is the consensus nr. 1. Just look at Bob's rankings. It's also just 2 spots Arizona would be moving up. The price is another 1st. This has also been posted by others on this site, so just not me.

As you said the Weber deal was done. I haven't seen any report that we offered a pick. Feel free to share that. We did acquire Little instead, in which we got an asset and gave up a lesser one. I know the money helps Arizona, but that is only for the first years. It's still for 4 years and no team wants that for so long.

Gostisbehere should cost 2x 3rds to 2x 2nds. Maybe a 2nd and 3rd. He was excellent this season.

If you found my answer harsch, I apologize. That wasn't my intention. On the other hand, I don't know why it is so fun to bash people. We are fans that want to have fun and discuss what we love. No reason to come at someone like this.
