Vlasic is already 35 i dont think the habs will want to take on a dman like that regardless of the cap hit. Already got Edmundson and Savard on the books to bring a veteran presence and management seems primed to give several of our young dman a long look this year.

Hard to fathom a bigger waste of 10.5mil for Ottawa. Love Karlsson to death, but even 50% retained that contract is a major problem long term due to the years remaining. Labanc is also on an awful deal, I don't see a spot for him in the Sens lineup.

But at that cost of return I think that the Sens would really have to think about it.

My thought is more they're willing to take him for getting Dahlen, who had a decent rookie year until he got injured and should be a top 6 winger in future. I don't know if Mon is trying to rebuild exactly but I think they are in asset gathering mode.

IMHO, Respectfully, other sens fans saying no. Yall are insane.

OTT needs a RHD, and OTT needs a RWinger. This accomplishes both.

Yeah, EK isnt the same, but he sure as **** is worth <6MM.

Labanc would be off the books soon, or moveable for one of the abundant picks that we have if he doesnt work out.

This would solve the vet problem, he loves the city, OTT would still get to draft and develop 7OA (wouldnt have to trade it to fill holes). I see this as a win.

NO SPOT for him 100% sure.

Unless someone would like to argue that he would be an ideal Top-6 Winger for Stutzle?

Maybe if Labanc wasn't in the deal and if Alfredsson was in the new ownership group buying the Senators...

Labanc is a bad player, just awful when not scoring and he hasn't done that much the last 3 seasons (similar pace to Colin White). I would much much rather have Colin White for the same salary. Getting Labanc would mean a White buyout (which might already happen so adding Labanc doubles down on the problem)

Would do it for EK though

Love the trade for Ottawa tbh. I'm all for bringing back EK65 he's exactly what we need right now. I think he still holds decent value with an 8M cap hit.

You would have to add the 11th overall pick to get the habs to take that deal. Dahlen has no value to the habs.

Vlasic at this point is a league min dman. he was getting scratched this past season.

I highly doubt Dahlen has anywhere close to that kind of value. From a Habs fan POV, he's interesting but they literally got Rem Pitlick off of waiver this season who is from the same draft, plays the same position and had a better season.

I don't see why they would. Adding bad money like this would have negative impacts a couple of years down the line. This kind of deal loses you Zub
