Isles easily reject and the flames aren’t interested in paying their third pair D $5.5 mil when they need to resign Tkachuk Gaudreau and Mangiapane

I wonder what Muzzin's motivation is to waive his NTC and move to Calgary? Why does Muzzin need a fresh start? Maybe been healthy is all he needed.
Kinda funny that the Leafs could find a UFA goalie for just 900,000.
You really think Marchment signs for 2.5m?
Another impractical l 21 man roster

I really like this roster other than that Marchment will want more money.

All teams not named Toronto pass.

And Mason Marchment will get more money than that.

Muzzin has health issues as well, I doubt they need Muzzin. If they deal Monahan it's to shed salary not clear only $500,000 between Monahan's retention and the Muzzin contract.

Now I've been reading Leaf AGM all day. muzzin is a norris calaber D iron man who is on a contract that frankly anytime would be honored to have after leading his team to multiple Playoff round wins.

I actually find this take to be absolutely hilarious.

The isles receive:
-solid prospect
-3rd round pick
-55 point, 27 year old multi position forward
-A back up with lots of NHL experience who has thrived as a back up and could easily reclaim his form

FOR:
-Their back up G
-34 year old 4th liner

Marchment is 26 years old and has ONE good season. He may fetch up to 3M but any team that gives him more for one good NHL season is stupid. Leafs have history with him and traded him where he was able to break out plus he's an Ontario guy. $2.5M - $3M is where he should be based off track record and limited experience.

Muzzin won a cup under Sutter and has played in the West his whole career aside from TOR???

Lankinen is literally a back up with average numbers. I'm sure TOR can get a back up for under $1M lmao

It's literally a swap. They're paying Monahan 6.3M to be in the press box... Acquiring Muzzin also allows them to free up another $3M + by not needing to sign Zadorov

Gee, I think Marchment would have Leafs near the bottom of his teams he would play for. Gotta think he never thought the Leafs gave him a chance.
Muzzin...from the Toronto area and his family here. Going to the travel heavy Pacific division doesn't seem appealing at all.

You can frame it anyway you want. Leafs could have buried Marchment in the AHL but they gave him an opportunity with another NHL team. He could be GRATEFUL.

Muzzin's first choice may be to stay but if management has discussions about what they want to do, CGY would be a great landing spot for him.

Flames and Muzzin decline. Calgary is walking away from Zadorov regardless and have the depth to replace him
