Rn i feel like mtl wants quality over quantity, heard they were interested in lekk, and cbj doesnt have a vet rd while mtl will be likely to pull the trigger if its for a prospect they really want, norlinder is a sweetener as mtl is set on LD w guhle, romanov and xhekaj.

Xhekaj is looking good in the OHL but the proper order for best LHD are : Guhle, Romanov, Harris, Norlinder, Xhekaj, Fairbrother and Trudeau (Reserve List). MTL should keep them all (not signing Trudeau tho) and see who outplays who. CBJ still decline, why would they need a veteran RHD at the cost of 12th OA but MTL should take a quality pick over the veteran RHD ? Both teams are rebuilding so they should have the same mentality

feels like cbj might be a few years ahead of mtl for their rebuilding, and they need a vet rd to shelter some of their prospects trying to make the lineup. as for mtl, they might take a shot at letang, if not, their d lineup could end up being romanov-savard edmundson-barron or guhle and maybe harris and it feels like they might re-sign wideman as he's got some leadership and isnt afraid to drop the gloves for the younglings. but yeh it really depends on cbj.

You missed Struble who is ahead of Norlinder at this point. Losing Norlinder is not a issue he is not a prospect good enough to squash the deal over.

Retaining on Petry also isnt a issue. The cap repayment by the players is over at the end off year 2 so the cap in the 3rd year will go up by 10ish million dollars.

If thats the price to move up to 12th they would pretty easily take it. Petry doesnt help the team in the future so getting the best return now is the priority.

Honestly Columbus probably declines. Columbus has plenty of LHD prospects and honestly I wouldn’t trade 12th OA for a player who is going to be 35 before next season ends and 38 when his contract is up, if he were turning 30 that’s a different story.

Yup. We need a 1C and top pair RHD. Much better chance of getting that at 12OA. Jackets have ton of average to good NHL talent (too much honestly). Need another all star/star level player

so, korchinski and lekk? tbh thats a good first round if u get out with both, or if either nemec or jiricek falls cbj grabs either and bet on lambert cuz lekk might be gone before that. actually korchinski is a LD my bad. even then might swap for a rd in the future too.

I knew I was missing someone, yes Struble is ahead of Norlinder, but Norlinder value decreased after his hard season in Sweden. I would do that trade if I was the Habs GM but it's unrealistic
