Savoie is my hope for our 1st round pick but he'll likely be gone by the time #8 comes around. I don't mind those trades. Getting more first round picks and the cap dumps as long as Mrazek gets bought out. I'm 50/50 on Strome as I' think he's propped up by Panarin. We shouldn't want Martinez until his eye Injury heals.

I mean its a $9M swing so Calgary would have around $36M for next season, if the $38 makes the difference id be fine moving on the deal still. I just think the small retention helps keep him moving along to a team that might want his services as long as he is cheap and the $2M hold for Calgary is better than having $12M in the two players...

In all fairness I did debate that one... I was hung up on that one for a little bit. I didnt think it was that great either. Maybe one of those prospects but not both.. But could you imagine Simmonds and Lucic on a line.. Never put them in a game.. but just having both on the bench makes most teams have to dress some goon just to make sure they are ready.. lol

I really hope Savoie falls. 8 is too early of a pick for Geekie.. then again Yzerman took Seider earlier than everyone thought he should and he looks like a genius.. So maybe a big center works... makes Rasmussen expendable at that point. wont get much though. As for Strome I agree. I also think free agency doesnt offer alot of great center options this year. Plus guys want money & term.. we really dont want to offer either right now if its not the right guy.

Simmonds, Lucic and Clifford line. Modern day Hanson brothers. They're all ready to fight Ogie Ogelthorpe. LOL

Yeah I really want to fill that 2C spot. The lack of a true 2C kills us with matchups. But there's nothing really available in UFA to be excited about. I don't mind the AAV but I don't want the term that goes with it.

I'd love to trade for JT Miller but we'd have to gut the team to get him. Does Stevie punt this season and wait until next summer? I don't know. It's like we want to compete now but also don't want to wreck the rebuild.

1 player can only be retained on twice per contract. Edmonton is already retaining on Lucic so both Calgary and Detroit can't

Why is Monahan a scratch?

These trades wouldn’t happen but if for some they did, Lindstrom should be in the lineup over Walman and Zadina over Erne and Dadonov
