Salary Cap Mode: Basic

Description

-Sam Girard is a valueable cap casuality; there's no route to getting Johnson off the roster other than a buyout, but that's extremely problematic in it's own right because it adds $2M to the cap for next year
-Can bring back mostly everyone and give Francouz a shot at 40+ games next year with Holtby splitting time if needed
-Kadri contract is a bit steep but I imagine that's his open market value and for 5 years it's not bad
-Nuke and Burakovsky coming back solidifies the top 6 for a another cup run
- Over $20M in cap space for next year can be given to MacKinnon ($12M+), as well as Byram+Newhook (imagine $2-4M bridges)
-JT Compher pure cap casuality; O'Connor needs to step up or Kaut can play a minor role as well
-Ennis and Larsson are cheap 4th line options that can be waived easilly if a move at the deadline is needed

I’d probably do that as a habs fan but would counter with Josh Brook + MTL 2nd 2022. So basically same proposal but the pick is 7 spots later.

Could add a 3rd as well if that helps but I think habs want to keep their 1sts this year with draft in Montreal.

MTL accept right away but that’s a steal for MTL. COL could get better value for Sam Girard.
A team might go after Compher with the playoffs he’s having

For the contract :
Nichushkin should get more terms with a lower AAV
Lehkonen probably gets a little more than that
Manson probably gets more than that both in terms and money
Too much for Burakovsky both in terms and money
Too much for Holtby both in terms and money

Personally I'd put the absolute cap on Kadri at 7M in Colorado. If he won't take that, thenI think he's unfortunately playing elsewhere next season.I also don't think Girard will be traded. The team will let Burakovsky and Manson walk before moving Sam (unless there is an offer to enticing to refuse).

yea avs are going to need a whole lot more for girard. change brook to guhle and add floridas 1st too.

let bura and kadri walk. keep compher. go after copp or giroux.

ej can be traded if needed. avs would have to add.

Girard is worth significantly more than that. Brook has zero value to the Avs, and Girard is worth far far more than a late 1st. Larsson, Ennis, and Lazar are complete waste of time and cap as COL has Meyers, Maltsev, Sturm in house already.
