Leafs paid Ottawa to take on that contract because they didn't have cap room for it. That situation hasn't changed.

it cost the leafs connor brown to offload that awful zaitsev contract, they arnt gonna give up a better,cheaper and less term defender for him now

Nope. I'd rather the Jets just keep Dubois which is the most likely scenario. It doesn't make sense to trade a center for a winger or an RD that isn't top pairing.

I'd ignore him, he thinks that if the Habs put up first overall for Dubois Montreal would need to add another significant piece'
No deal is good enough for him.

Toronto and Winnipeg don't do those. Brannstrom is worth more than a 4th and if he isn't then there's no reason not to keep him around for another season to see if he can put it together. As far as I can tell Formenton hasn't been involved in any controversy unless I'm mistaken.

I believe he was on the Canadian World Junior team that was recently in the headlines for all the wrong reasons. That said, Batherson was also on that team (and in the team photo at the reception) and this ACGM is keeping him so maybe Formenton did something else.
