The bottom pair is a little sketchy but can be sheltered. I also think you could re-sign Vatrano around $3M AAV instead of Kravstov if you wanted someone a little more proven.

The biggest thing you're banking on is Playoff Chytil becoming Everyday Chytil, but it's not the worse gamble to take when you're talking about a 22-year-old.

Yeah I mean I honestly don’t think the roster looks like this just made it to show how a Kakko offer sheet is worked around. Completely agree on the Vatrano>Kravtsov point. As for the 3rd pair I have full confidence in Schneider and really like Jones but I think the team might want someone with a little more size, wouldn’t be shocked if they made an attempt to re-sign Braun.

Tbf KK was a retaliatory offer sheet, nobody is really looking to retaliate against the Rangers. Besides maybe Montreal with Gorton there now

For 2nd round pick in compensation. It would be wise thing to consider this for teams for middle of pack like Sabres, Devils, Red Wings, Sens, Jets (not looking at cap space or position need)

Yeah it was, and the canes look like buffoons now. Got played by MTL both times- now Aho can walk into UFA at age 27 with only two more years left on his deal. I think a Kakko offer sheet would be beneficial for the kid. He gets no PP time and is a really really good defensive winger.

Interested to use the phase screwed up when the Canes have both players from the OS’s and a team with youth on their side still. I know the Canes are the easy mark for all 31 other fan bases…I welcome that. Thinking winners and losers have already been decided is a fool’s errand.

Go ahead and talk about the Dougie contract after one year, that’s fine, per multiple analytic models he earned his cap hit this year. Defensively he regressed which isn’t great but he has years of solid defensive play to give us hope that will bounce back. Unlike you, I can admit when a deal doesn’t look great..
