Mayfield is better than Mayfield at this point and 25% of the cost. Why do the Isles do that?

Fair value for Kerfoot but Vancouver won’t be buying
Muzzin I think rebounds greatly, he was a stud in the playoffs and looked like he usually does when healthy, would rather hold onto him but due to cap reasons I wouldn’t be mad getting a cheaper d man, tho we could honestly just keep Holl who really isn’t far behind Mayfield (less physical but better puck mover).
Why trade Engavll for scraps
Whatever highest bid for Kase is, why not if we aren’t keeping him
Major overpay for Crouse. As long as he’s healthy, Robertson alone will be a more impactful than Crouse by next year.
I would take that Minnesota trade in a heartbeat. Marcus Foligno is a stud

-Kerfoot & Holl values are fair, destinations are fungible. Same with Mrazek - Edmonton's not the fit but if it costs you more than a 3rd to dump him, just eat the buyout instead.

-Muzzin isn't interesting to an Islanders team that needs available dollars for summer 2023 when they have to re-sign Barzal & Wahlstrom. There are other, better options out there that will cost less for LD2; on top of all that there's no one in the pipeline to step up and play RD3 every day. So you're creating a new hole to fill a current one - not good asset management.

-Engvall's rights can probably get you that; Kase is most likely a non-tender and I can't see another team taking that plunge with his injury history.

-Might actually be an overpay for Crouse? He's a good player but his is two of your top 5 prospects PLUS a 2nd rounder. I think you can save one of the players here and still get the deal done.

-Pendulum swings back on this one - giving up an AHLer, a 2nd three years down the road, and a 4th doesn't get you Marcus Foligno with retention. Minnesota has other options to move out for cap space before they get down to this level.

Caps don't need Justin Holl. Like, at all.
