Your backup goalie isn't going to get a young NHL defenseman like Sandin, sorry.

Sandin is going to be our #1 defenseman in the future. A backup aged 32 isn't nearly getting that.

Lol Johnson is a cap dump. Allen is good, and might be our starter this year. Habs decline

Habs decline but if you want Sandin why not offer sheet him, offering like 4.2 mil for 1 year would cost like a second rounder and no way toronto can afford to pay that

avs have no 2nd so they can't but it's an excellent idea for another team.

Easy decline by habs
Woth the uncertainty about Carey Price, we are nit giving up our only NHL caliber goaltender
Especially not for an old rental player
Doesn't make sense

i assume price is done the habs will go after a legit starter

ej is there to take the place of petry. while he is overpaid he'd still be one of the habs best d.

Who is available for a legit starter?
And the money and / or the price of money and / or assets of acquiring a starting caliber goalie, isn't productive, considering the habs are in rebuilding mode. Much rather keep Allen, and get a cheaper younger, and better player than Johnson either in free agency or through trade

Leafs decline in a big way... and I really see no need for Colorado to even want Sandin? Toews, Byram and Girard already there... youre not going to trade for Sandin to be your 3rd pair Dman

Girard is soooo overrated, small, always hurt and can't defend. An easy NO from isles.

homer post 101.

girard is small but he's been relatively healthy. as healthy as beauvillier too. and he's a pretty good defender. you also have to consider what you're giving up here. beauvillier has been a disappointment with the islanders. over the past 2 seasons girard has the same production as beauvillier despite beind a dman lol. girards contract is way better too. the 2022 2nd is going to be 63rd or 64th overall, so essentially a 3rd.

Beau was hurt once this season and his production is impacted by the defenseman the isles had. Girard isn’t the answer to the isles problems when he can’t even stay on the ice.

girard is exactly what the islanders need. they need d that can skate. chara and greene can't cut it. besides beau was getting healthy scratched too. really inconsistent. islanders without a doubt add.

Beau shouldn’t have been scratched and that’s why Barry is gone

barry is the whole reason why isles had the success they've had the last few years. beau didn't produce and he had to sit, simple as that.

He didn’t deserve to lol. If you want to know why the Isles succeeded look at the guys Lou and Barry inherited.

If you really feel that way about Beau then why did you propose the trade? Girard is injury prone and that hurts his value. That’s about 50% of the reason I wouldn’t make the deal. The other half has to do with the fact he doesn’t compliment Dobson as well as I’d like.

Avs already ripped off the isles for a puck moving d man. Not eager to repeat the experience.
