Give up Nylander for a guy who just had double hip surgery and wont even be available until December or January. Poor asset management there Bud.

The Leafs get to keep Marchand for the next 3 years which is their window to win a cup while Nylander might just walk after 2 years.

Behind the leagues best defense at the time in Carolina and then Toronto overpaid him not recognizing that small detail. He's not not worth anything, Leafs need to buy him out or pay to move him. Holl is worth nothing to the Hawks either. They have two very good prospects competing for the 3rd line D on the right behind Jones and Murphy and Holl is not going to block them meaning he's a scratch.

I actually read an article today discussing that the Hawks and Davidson may be interested in helping out Leafs as Chicago has lots of Cap and Davidson owes Dubas a favour for a trade that collapsed at the deadline.

Are you saying that Nylander is a better player than Marchand?

Davidson doesn't owe Dubbas anything. As The Athletic reported, Mrazek will either cost the Leafs a 2nd or Abruzzese to move him to the Hawks but the Hawks are one of the few teams willing to take that cap dump

I thought Davidson was the GM who told the media about the proposed Chicago/Toronto deal........which upset Dubas.

I think you are right that Hawks would want young prospects and draft picks for taking on Cap of Marazek.

Age is meaningless......The Leafs have a 2 year window to go all in a win while Matthews still signed.........Marchand would put them over the top like Kawi for the Raptors.

Definitely decline.

Maybe not, but why would a rebuilding team trade for a guy thats going to be a UFA before the asset they’re moving…especially when the guy their moving is pretty likely to be better than the guy they’re acquiring for the duration of the contract, and is cheaper.

Doesn’t make much sense.
