I'll bet you as much as you are willing to bet. It will take a 2nd and a B-level prospect like Abruzzese or Steeves. There have been numerous reports saying that's what it'll take. In no universe would Toronto give up Robertson or Knies just to dump 3.5mil in cap. Sure, Detroit probably won't take that. But Chicago and Arizona probably will.

We're looking for a top-level young LD with term like Jakob Chychrun, Ivan Provorov or Mikhail Sergachev, not an expensive veteran who has a poor injury history, and we don't need stopgaps because there are several cheap UFAs that won't cost us anything to sign or pay. And the idea that we would trade Gabe Vilardi for him is just cuckoo. Nick Robertson is not a sufficient sweetener, as we have at least three LW prospects who would be ahead of him on our depth chart (Alex Turcotte, Sam Fa-gem-o and Andre Lee).
