Flames decline(Zucker is a cap dump. Contending teams don't take cap dumps unless similar money is going back like the Lucic for Neal swap a few years ago. Also Zadorov belongs on the bottom pairing

Zucker and a 3rd doesn't return a 2nd, Calgary passes big time.
Edmonton passes, Dumoulin and Linberg doesn't return no mid 20th overall pick.
Buffalo passes, They need RD not LD like Matheson.

Matheson would be wasted in Buffalo as they are pretty deep on the left and don't see why the Pens would trade him anyway especially as a salary dump.

To me it’s mind baffling, traded for him and everyone laughed and went from a bottom of the league defenseman to a key part of our left side. And now I’m seeing people trading him? Absolutely no reason to trade him his value to our team has gone up tremendously with what he’s done since being traded.
