Pass, not enough with NJ's #2 OA being available. Remove the top 10 protection and it's probably closer.

Not bad, but probably not the best offer out there.

I’d bet anything Pinto becomes an elite top 6 2 way centre. Ppl are so down on him. I don’t want to sell low on him just because he was injured

I would take Pinto off and add greg and 2 more prospects like JBD and Boucher. 2 A tier prospects 1 B tier and a couple high picks.

I think that deal would be better for both teams. I just think Greig + JBD and 7th overall is going to be a lot of value to give up

I know it's a lot to give up but Ottawa already has their young core it's time to add good veteran players to help the young core.

Hot-Take: NJD trades 2nd overall pick to CHI for D-Cat. (And maybe something else)

It is a lot of value but not enough to blow us away when NJD could put #2 on the line with a prospect like Holtz for example.

Why would NJ do that? I can’t see them including both.

Supply and Demand. Currently the Demand outweighs the supply IMO. not many 24yo 40 goal scorers hit the market at 6.4m with team control. The likelihood is he will be a perennial top 5 goalscorer in the league for the next decade, particularly if he plays on a better team.

Fiala would not even cost half that

To be fair dcat has averaged 32 goals and 60 points while Fiala has averaged 17 goals and 40, including his break out year this year. That price sounds about right. His prior high in points was 54.

I would still rather part with 1 solid asset for Fiala than 2 solid cheap assets for Debrincat. Especially in a salary cap era

Totally fair, that’s a different perspective and a good one. I just think Fiala isn’t in the same ballpark but your stance makes sense

I love both guys . Debrincat is probably my fav player that isn’t playing for my fav team. I would pay a lot to get him to ottawa . Just not sure I’d pay 2-3 elite cheap pieces to get him.

I’d pay a top 10 pick and an A- prospect and maybe a lower level prospect and a roster player sure. But have a hard time trading Holtz and 2nd overall. I’d trade Greig and 7th tho and maybe 1 more decent piece

The question for any team looking at him is, can he help put you over the top? If not, it’s not worth it. The value coming to Chicago has go to be immense to get a guy at this age with that production. He really hasn’t even reached his ceiling as he has been working on the defensive side of his game as well as finding the slot more. But if he can’t put a team over, pass city.

The question with Fiala and Debrincat is D does NJ need another smaller winger? I feel like they need a big power forward

If you feel Fiala is the pure goal scorer Cat is, offer Wild that package but there is a reason Cat is getting big interest.

Fiala played on a good side and will come with a new big contract hit that comes into immediate effect. Wild also don't have the leverage because people know they need space.

We're not desperate to sell we can sit back and take in all the offers.
