IMO Gibson is a top 10 goalie in the league
But having Toews + Byram helps moving on Sam

For Sam, would u rather this package or Sharangovich, Mukhamadulin, and a 2022 3rd? Curious cuz I’ve proposed that before

After giving us a second and Drew Helleson for one year of Dave Manson, Joe Sakic isn't going to embarrass himself by offering that for John Gibson.

At that price, the Avs would be buying Gibson’s reputation from like… 5 years ago lol.

The guy has been mediocre the past few seasons. He has had a negative goals saved above expected for each of the past three years. Why would you trade a very good young defenseman for that guy? You could just give a similar contract to Kuemper or Husso and keep your core defenseman.

Yeah like Carey Price ? When you have a bad team in front of you, it’s hard carrying them these days. Cap space, you know what it is ?

I’d take that NJ deal, sign Kuemper for less than what Gibson makes and be a more complete team with more cap space. Gibson Has been basically a .904 3.0 guy the last 3 years, that tank may be empty

You move Girard and you have to backfill him with another top 4 defenseman. It’s not like moving him saves money.

As it stands now, you have Kurtis MacDermid in your lineup as a #6 defenseman. I assume that was a mistake.

Jack Johnson can jump in anytime
But at the AAV he signed and on a two years deal, I think MacDermitt start
The top 4 looks good to me until Toews need an extension

I don't see the value in that deal for Columbus. Robinson's one of our best ice-tilting forecheckers; sure, he can't finish consistently, but that's why he has linemates (and is a fourth-liner rather than higher up).
