What an original trade to the Isles.

The Isles have no need or want for Barrie.

The Isles do not want nor do they need Tyson Barrie. Pulock-Dobson-Mayfield are down the right side already. Find a different home for him because it's not going to be Long Island

Do you really think a team would retain that much and take a cap dump and a 2nd for a dman who still scored at a .70 ppg pace?

Retention aside, if Karlsson's cap hit was 5.75M, he'd be worth at least a first and blue chip prospect.

But instead, the Sharks are retaining 30 million dollars here and getting negative value in return.

No thanks.

My God, what have I just seen. How can you trade Karlsson with half salary for this crap? This is disrespectful to San Jose and Karlsson. It's foolish to even hope that he will agree to be traded to Edmonton.

There's no reality where Barrie gets all that. He played 3rd pair and is not trusted in the defensive zone. All the platitudes of a right shot, puck moving D are worthless because he doesn't do much well. I dont agree with him being a cap dump as teams would probably take a chance on him when two teams paid for Nick Leddy last season and the potential for a bounce back. But, knowing the Oilers cap crunch, that takes all their leverage away in any potential deal.

He could be traded for a 3rd, maybe.

Right. Calling Kulak, Chiarot and Lehkonen worthless at the TDL. How you even still offering opinions so confidently?
