Yeah, didnt put much effort into the roster - just wanted to see if Isles fans will yell at me or say theyll move Dobbo

Isles say no. Dobson isn't completely untouchable but he's damn close to. It's just as crazy for you guys to trade for Sorokin as it is Dobson. 22 year old RHD that put up 10+ goals and 50+ points is extremely valuable

if they go to a rebuild i think they have to take that. they are getting someone who can already play in a top 4 D roll, a first and our best forward prospect. thats hard to turn down imo

Islanders probably would want Nylander and a Dobson replacement type prospect that’s a couple years away. Which Toronto doesn’t have, Dobson is much better than any of torontos D prospects will ever be.

Asking for Nylander+ Probably will upset leafs fans, but Dobson is a 22 YO RHD that has 45-70pt potential.

I don’t think it’s too far off in value, but it would have to be a significant overpay to get the isles to trade Dobson. Big top pair RHD who can skate are like unicorns in the NHL, and he’s only 22 YO

I'd pay Nylander+ for Dobson but the + couldn't be outrageous

Dobson might be more untouchable than Barzal and Sorokin right now. The Islanders probably hold onto those three with an iron grip... Pulock and Pelech are a smidge below that.

I'm trying to think of a rebuilding team that ever traded away a player like Dobson, who is good, young and cost controlled without somehow being forced to do it. These are the types of players rebuilding teams build around.

Well he's already had 51 points playing on the second pairing, saddled with Chara in a defensive system. It took him about six weeks into the season to settle in and really start putting up points too, that's the scary part. Next season if he's paired with Pelech, used on the 1st PP and Lambert opens the system a little... the kid could put up some bonkers numbers.

Yeah no I get it. I just don’t think Toronto wants to pay what it would take. NYI has no reason to move him, and he plays the most coveted position in hockey so well.

He'd be my #1 target, only players I wouldn't want to trade for him are Matthews, Marner, Liljegren, and Rielly. The package all depends what the Isles decide to as they'll either want picks and prospects or roster players (Nylander) and some additional picks/prospects

Could put together a pretty good package with Nylander as the main piece if Isles decide they are still trying to win a cup as soon as next year
