Canucks pass, you have to add picks and/or prospects on Pittsburgh's end to convince them to even think about an offer with that skeleton/backbone

Pens pass on the VAN deal. Zucker > Myers and pens would only be stuck with Zuck for a year instead of 2 with Myers

Both teams pass on the Van deal. From the Pens point of view, the whole reason to move Zucker is to shed his contract, which is entirely negated by taking back a more expensive one for an extra year.
