Garland > Debrusk

Hoglander = Marino, Pens have to add to acquire Myers, especially if the Canucks are retaining salary

Garland is fun to watch but Canucks going for size and Grit with Desbrusk.......Canucks need more size in forward group and Debrusk can play and protect the young stars from being pushed around.

Maybe Pens need to add another young prospect or late round draft pick to make the trade work.......Even though I think Marino has much more value than Hoglander........Great deal for Canucks to get out of Myers deal to obtain Marino.

What do you mean by tough?

Canucks get rid of a under-sized forward for a Power Forward..........Seems to be an upgrade for Vancouver and Boston is happy as player wants out and Garland from Boston area.

We all know that Garland is going to be shipped out.....I think you are over-rating the Canucks player and no way Boston is also giving us a 2nd round pick for Garland as they enter a rebuild.

Woah, I dont think he is getting shipped out, I think that boston is on the way down and might just liquidate and get all the picks that they can.

Garland's name is constantly being discussed on trade bulletins.........He is a very tradeable asset for the Canucks which trader Jim Rutherford is going to move out for superior assets......I like watching Garland but he is too under-sized to be a difference maker when the going gets tough.

I agree with you that Boston is a sinking ship and next one to go is Sweeney as GM before the new GM commences the rebuild.

Garland is the better player on a better deal for longer, Garland is a play driver and fits with the core, Garland may be small but plays a big game, at best this is a trade for a sake of a trade and that's not something I am too interested in

I am not convinced that Garland can take the heavy hitting in the NHL the way he plays.........so I am in favour of unloading him while he has a good contract and he is healthy.

I mean he hasn't been on any type of ir due to injury since 2018, the game is going towards small players I get not having a team full of small players how ever Garland wouldn't be the player I move

Okay.....If we don't move Garland then we need to move Hoglander as team has too many small forwards.

Canucks do need more size, but trading Garland for Debrusk isn't the first thing that would come to my mind. Even if both teams were interested in such a deal, the Bruins would have to add a couple of mid-round picks or B-prospects

Marino is not worth significantly more than Hoglander, if anything, I'd say they're about equal in value

At least a 2nd, probably have to add a B-prospect on top of that

Pens pass. The whole point of moving one of our 4 million dollar Dmen is to open space to bring in a winger for Geno. We have POJ to replace him. Taking Myers just defeats the whole purpose of moving Marino as we're taking on even more salary than we're moving out.

I think the idea is that Letang doesn't get re-signed in such a scenario

No, both Hoglander and Garland can stay, they'll just play on different lines

Ok, but then we need a true #1Dman and a PP QB. No offense, but that's not Myers. If we do lose Letang then we're going after someone like Klingberg at least.

Either Klingberg, or might have to make do without that definitive no. 1 D-man then, just look at Calgary for example

I don't even consider Klingberg a real #1. There is no replacing Letang with what's available, but we can at least get the PP QB. If not Klingberg, then we sign DeAngelo or trade for Barrie. Myers just doesn't fill any need for the Pens.

I wouldn't say Myers doesn't fill any of their needs, he just doesn't fill their most pressing need on the back end

Jets decline.

No need or cap room for Dickinson.
