Detroit accepts, and since you're not keeping Nylander please add him too.

I didn't bother with AHL guys but I imagine we will keep Nylander.

Would you accept the first round pick in exchange for $1.5M in salary retention?

I think a 1st needs to be a part of the base deal, with Salary Retention we would retain 50% for an extra 2nd as well, the way i see it would be Miller 50% retanied for Marinio 2022 1st Kappen and a 2023 2nd, we could do 1.5 retained with a 3rd coming back tho

Contracts are way off. Nichushkin makes double that. Erod, malkin, and letang all make more

unless we decide to keep zucker we probably wouldnt need retention. Of course it is always nice, but I am not sure we need to give up the 2nd/3rd for it

My only thing with JT is he is a UFA after this year. So if Pens did this deal I think he'd have an extension setup as well.

With Nichuskin I wanted Rakkell but cap got tight. With Erod I was thinking $1.5M per year but longer term. Give the man some security in exchange for lower cap hit. This only works if Pens do shift Carter to wing on third line. Malkin said he would take less and I do think he would accept $6M per for the extra year. Letang is the wildcard. I think Pens are going to attempt to sign him around $7M but longer term with no trade protection toward end of the contract. My thoughts with Letang are as much as I want him back if the man wants $8M plus it's a good luck on your next team. For $8M and moving Petterson we can revamp the entire D and still have leftover cap.

yeah that's fair i think, the base of Marino and 1st and Kapanen is what we are really looking for out of a main package, everything else doesn't really matter

So my issue with Zucker is where do we move him to? In his case you almost need to do a 1 for 1 trade of another winger who needs change in scenery. I think Zucker still has value on this team his biggest issue has been staying healthy. I do think a 3rd line of Zucker - Teddy - Carter could do some serious damage. Pens need to accomplish two major things at the forward group this offeason. 1. Surround Malkin with some actual freakin wingers. 2. Establish a 3rd line again that has high energy. We always win cup when our 3rd line can hold their own.

and that my friend we agree on, only condition would be Miller signing a reasonable contract which should not be a problem

I am not sure what a contract he would sign with the pens last i heard he was looking for 8+ so if the pens are willing to do that it definitely makes sense for both teams

He's eligible for waivers so he'll be gone if you try to send him to the AHL.

Feel Pets value is closer to a late 3rd. Rather the Wings grab a plug-in LHD via FA.

Two ways to get rid of zucker would be to attach him with a mid round pick as a cap dump or a buyout. If healthy he is a perfect piece of that third line, but there is no guarantee that he will be healthy.
