I think this actually could be a decent thought for the Canadians

I know right? Like, think about it. A top six consisting of Suzuki, Caufield, Slavkovsky, Dubois, Anderson, and maybe one more long-term piece (right now they have a rotating cast of Gallagher, Dadonov, and Hoffman), sounds pretty respectable to me

They really do. Since 2OA may be dealt as well, maybe they can even move down if they want to then go up for 1OA and get some more assets

If I'm the Jets, I don't take this. The best possible asset they can get is Florida's first, and given they just won the pres trophy, it's not going to be a very good one. Dvorak really isn't an attractive asset, either; at this point, some might consider him to be something of a cap dump.

Nah, Dvorak isn't a cap dump, and the 2nd + 3rd rounders ain't nothing, plus a couple of long-term projects, all on top of the 1st. Can move Perfetti to the 2C position and insert Dvorak as the 3C

How many more assets could they get from moving 1OA down to 2OA?

Would you take a 1st from 28-32 overall, David Gusafsson, Dmitry Kuzmun and a 2nd and 3rd for Suzuki? Because thats a better return than what you just sent. And yes Dvoak is cap dump. Your past GM got taken to the cleaners on that deal. Habs fans have to realize that.

Unlikely Winnipeg would take a pile of nothing if they trade PLD.

And lose a high valued asset just to make space. This high valued asset can get them a 2-3 D or a top line winger or a top 7 pick in the draft. Top 6 power forwards are very hard come by.

I would not rather trade down one pick in case the other team take the player I really appreciate and want. To be safe you pick the player you want now.
