Take out the 1st round picks and I could see that working for the devils. I know NJD fans really like Mercer but Nylander in his prime might be too good to pass up.

Definitely not worth 2nd overall though

Trading Mercer for Nylander is insane. Devils would never and should never do it.

Nylander in his prime? Nylander has two years left on a deal just shut of 7 million a year. Mercer has two years left on his ELC and is really ****ing good.

I mean, Mercer might be really good, but right now he is a middle 6 forward. Nylander is a first line forward. Yeah nylander only has 2 years left but then he is 28, not exactly old.

Mercer might one day be a first line player but not yet. This could accelerate the devils rebuild
