I've seen a fair number of the Garland-for-JBD+2nd trades and I'm not sure I like it as a VAN fan; can you give me a proper scouting report on JBD? For a "2-way" Dman his point totals aren't jumping off the page for a prospect.

I'd take back Tyler Johnson if you're including Murray in the deal.

    That first line is scary...

Two-Way is generous. He's a stay at home type of guy. Nothing flashy, just smart and safe. Perfect partner for a guy like Q. Hughes. We always thought he'd be a great fit for Chabot when he was ready. That was, of course, before the Zub.

He’s not about points. He’s kinda like a Ceci but can make a pass. So a guy you pair with an offensive D , is good at making a pass , getting the puck out and defending .if you don’t hear his name, it’s usually a good thing . He’s a guy you pair with Hughes imo

Thanks for the info. Do you think he's NHL ready this year or needs another season?

A late 1st for Connor Brown is his value. I can remove the 2nd if I don’t retain

A bit of up and down. Needs NHL reps for sure and a bit of man strength.

Maybe his value to Ottawa, but Toronto isn't trading that pick for one year of Connor Brown. Don't see that happening.

Mostly because that pick might be their best asset right now, and they need to upgrade goaltending. And also because he's not worth it.

What about a third to retain the same ammount on brown? I feel as if that’s a little more fair AND you get a third this year instead of a second In three

Not sure where the 2-way comes from, probably from a few years ago. He's a defensive D-man who will probably put around 20 pts per season. He could become very good defensively

That's the price, particularly with retention

Some teams will probably offer more at the deadline. IF the Sens don't extend him, Brown will be one of next season's hot commodity at the deadline

Brown is not worth a 1st?

Well, he has been MORE productive while having a bigger defensive role than several guys that have been traded for MORE the last 2-3 seasons...
