If you don’t retool now, you’ll be rebuilding in 3 years. I think it’s a must. Jeannot could probably return a Hagel like package

I agree we could set us up for a bright future if Poile could see that but sadly he won’t

There would be a massive bidding war for sure, so even if there ask was something like this, the return would increase. I think Jersey would potentially give a great package.

Jersey just makes to much sense because they are looking to compete now and getting saros would be a great move in that direction

What kind of package do you think Jersey would do?

Yeah, plus they seem to have a surplus of RFAs this season that they don't know what to do with them except potentially upgrade them, and perhaps they would toss in Holtz as well, ofc Blackwood would be included too.

Not sure but they do have several pieces, that they can start with probably Blackwood+Zacha as a starting point.

I just know they can probably outbid people.

As much as I would love that proposal I think throwing in holtz would be to much. Plus I think holtz would be in there too 6 in a year or two. The 2 overall, Blackwood and maybe Foote would probably get it done. I would ask for Mukhamadullin is I was Poile instead of Foote

I think they would rather trade the 2OA elsewhere since teams might bid on that, if they can get a scorer+pieces or at least a scorer, it just makes more of the RFAs expendable and they could keep Holtz too.

Saros isn’t gonna get traded to jersey without the number 2 or holtz coming back at least

I think the 2OV pick is considered to be more valuable than the 2OV selection unless he's a generational talent or close.

Generally, elite goalies aren't worth as much as elite forwards and that 2OV can help Jersey land one maybe.

I think Jersey would rather give future firsts. Also, other teams looking to make offers probably won't be offering a starter as well, which would allow NSH to potentially still compete next year (might be a first round exit again but at least they wouldn't draw tge ire of Josi). If the 2OV is included they would probably want something else fron NSH but idk what that would be.

Blackwood+roster player (one or two of the RFAs) + good prospect+ 2023 1st

Other teams would be probably offering 2 prospects +2 expected late first (of with Saros you expect Jersey to make it to the playoffs but if he gets injured, you never know)

Without Saros Nashville is immediately in the Conner Bedard sweepstakes though.

Which is where they should be.

Maybe a dark horse would be Vegas since they go after every new shiny toy that becomes available, if they can get Lehner and Pacioretty to waive for NSH maybe they would do Lehner+Pacioretty (at 5m/7m) + 2 A pieces+a sweetener

Another guy they may move is Karlsson but I don't know if NSH would want him. Pacioretty would be a temp replacement for Forsberg and can be flipped at the deadline too.

If Nashville trades saros they aren’t looking to really contend so getting Blackwood would be more of a throw in because if you put that much value for him I wouldn’t want him. Ingram would probably hold down the crease until askarov was ready. If New Jersey didn’t want to come off the 2ov or holtz then I’d move on to the next team.

Agreed, Blackwood would be a throw in but I don't see too many teams who would be giving more than 2 prospects (one being a top prospect) and 2 firsts.

They would probably throw in Holtz before the 2OA since a lot of teams will have interest in it. I feel as if NJ would be bidding against themselves if they included it. I think they might just go after Campbell if the price is too hefty for Saros.

Dubas considers him an A prospect, but he would do the trade except I don't think he would want to buy our Myers (perhaps bring in another team to retain part of his cap).

Depends on what the more is but that’s a solid start. Saros in Edmonton would be a real solid pick up for them and would put them in true contender mode for years.

What about Willy,Kerfoot,Robertson,Knies & a 1st +

That seems like a ton. That’s two top 6 forwards and two middle 6 forwards plus a first.

They probably want him as a player. They would get 600k this year and lose 600k next year.

Maybe 23 1st top 2 protected, Holtz, Blackwood for Saros and a 3rd?

I would go for that if that’s the route we decide to go. Holtz or the number 2 pick would have to the main piece or Nashville would go look elsewhere
