Detriot got a 4 and the prorated portion a full contract minor leaguer salary of 750k paid for retaining the TDL portion of 1.05 mil. Not a chance Arizona uses a retention spot and spends cash for basically nothing.

So what would be a fair offer from the other teams?
NJ, swap NYs pick for 14OA?

Buffalo, take out Krebs and put in JJP or similar prospect?

What about Florida’s 3rd or Stanley?

Krebs, cozens, Quinn, Peterka are all off the table. Don't see sabres giving anything of correct value for pld tbh.

Bailey for Dillon actually works valuewise imo. I just wonder if Bailey fits enough of a need for Winnipeg for them to consider it

Hellebuyck is incredible but that's an insane amount to give up for a guy with only 2 years of team control, especially when the Devils have not yet made the playoffs.

I would think they would go to Lapierre + 2 firsts + prospect not named mcmichael or fehervary + eller

No, we aren’t trading Kerbs, Peterka, Quinn, or Cozens. I doubt Winnipeg will make a trade unless they are involved, so Buffalo isn’t the right trading partner

The title of this is spot on, think you could add "bad loyalty program" to it too though, the catering/pandering to some players over others has been a big contributor to their problems. I get that a small market team needs to be a bit more loyal than a big market team but doing it the way the Jets have is causing more issues than its solving.

How an organization with so much working against it can create more problems for itself is mind boggling.
