Even though Kane is loved in Buffalo the Sabres won’t give up Quinn unless Kane resigns for at least acouple of years

Well the trade is with the expectance he signs a deal that allows him to finish his career in his hometown, which is why I chose Buffalo.

If they really want Kane they will just wait until he’s a free agent. They aren’t trading for Kane this off-season. It’s just not a fit.

Situationally Kane makes no sense for Sabres. He doesn’t even make them a sure thing for playoffs so they shouldn’t be sending key futures away in a trade for him. They also don’t need any retention on him.

Kane not making Buffalo a playoff team is the reason he'd never waive for buffalo

The most overplayed trend on cap friendly is that every player wants to play for their hometown team. Not everyone is Tavares.

Buffalo has no reason to give away Quinn to get an extra year with Kane before they’re ready to be a playoff team anyway. Chicago isn’t trading him unless somebody overpays and nobody should. Buffalo can just wait a year and throw him more money than anyone else is willing to if they want him at that point.
