Great idea on the offer sheets, because SJ and Buffalo totally won’t match those insanely weak offers 👍

Isles have enough average bottom-6 forwards. Kase has an injury history and his next contract will be a higher AAV than Mayfield's current deal. The 3rd and 4th are not enough to compensate. Why exactly do the Isles trade their elite PKer RD who is on a cheap contract for peanuts?

Would be great for them to send one Sandin’s way moments later and wait the full 7 days to tie up Leafs already limited cap space right during FA lol

ARZ says no, NYI say no, SEA says no.

I dont think you're offering them anything they need/want, you're just offering what you want to get rid of

You can spend 10% above the cap in the offseason (that's 8.2 million) just have to be cap compliant for game day

As with all trade offers from any team to any team. Team A offers Team B someone they don't want or doesn't fit whether it's cap reasons, position abundance or what have you. This is generally how trades work Team A offers Team B a player Team A doesn't want or need

I dont think thats true. Its a waste of time and just aggravates people to offer them stuff they dont want, for something they have of value. You offer them stuff they dont want WITH stuff they might. Rarely does a team just give away assets for something they dont want, unless they're like BUF and they need a cap dump, but they dont offer anything of value. Why would any team propose or accept a deal something for stuff they dont need or want and giving up stuff they do?

Does SEA, who is rebuilding give up a high 2nd for two UFAs making 5.5mil playing positions they are relatively set at and aren;t part of their rebuild. Does NYI want the rights to Kase, who is arbitration eligible? Does ARZ want over 9mil in salaries they probably cant flip to move up just 10 spots in the draft?

Its not the start of a successful trade to under offer for something you want with damaged goods the seller doesn;t want. I think teams accept trades if they believe they are beneficial to them, and none of these offers are.

Yep I’m aware - I just think it’s extremely unrealistic and pretty idiotic for the leafs to get into the OS game with the way their team is structured right now and for the foreseeable future. Especially if targeting teams with ample cap space.

You and I both know the Leafs don't play OS game, fans do, fans love the game, but NHL GMs usually dont
