Girard for Romanov 1v1

Created by: Blazingbat11
Team: 2022-23 Montreal Canadiens
Initial Creation Date: Jun. 28, 2022
Published: Jun. 28, 2022
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Girard is the better player, but Romanov is 2 years younger and has cost control that the Avs will be looking for.

For Petry trade, I fully understand DAL not wanting to give up a blue chip prospect for a veteran dman, but rumors are rumors, and I opted with Hughes choosing the quality prospect over a package deal with draft picks. I highly doubt MTL has any interest in retaining salary for long term contracts, but I retained anyways as further incentive so Petry's cap hit is more digestible at $5.5mil.

Dallas doesn't touch Petry unless Hughes retains $1,250,000 for $5,000,000 x 3 years. He's not worth more than that.

A Healthy Anthony Mantha > > > > > Healthy Jonathan Drouin. So Washington passes big time.

Hell no on giving up romanov for Girard.

For a guy who has averaged over 2+ mins of pp time in his career his point totals suck. His 5 on 5 prpduction is is pedestrian and his possesion nimbers are bad considering he gets offensive oriented deployment.

Oh and hes 5'10 as a dman

Where are these so-called "Jeff Petry for Mavrik Bourque" rumors? The only "rumors" I've seen regarding that kind of trade are from fans that WANT it to happen, but have no inclination on whether or not Dallas would even offer that kind of deal for Petry

Never said the rumors were for Bourque specifically. Just Petry's constant connection with DAL. I'm simply suggesting that instead of MTL asking for a package deal (lesser prospect + 1st or 2nd rd pick), Habs just go for higher quality prospect and drop the pick(s).
