You realize you're going to have to pay out picks and prospects for those cap dumps, right? And probably retained salary too...........

Wow. You’re just slightly off on that Habs trade, not a bad attempt in my opinion. So close! Throw in Petterson and you have a deal! 😁

Montreal isn't passing up on the 1st overall pick for Miller, The contracts for Manson, Palat and Forsberg are 2 million short and why would Boeser sign for 5 million for a year if he can get 7.5 for the same term with his QO

I left enough cap room to make up for differences but realistically mansons season wasnt 5 million worthy maybe 4 though. One of the reasons Colorado won is cuz theyre contracts were good. Also boeser shouldnt get a pay raise for having step back in performance. Enough cap room to make up for slight differences in contracts proces though.

They're still decent players with cap going up and players asking for more. Not bad contracts. But myers could be making about 2 million less

Boeser isn't worth that 7.5 I agree, but if he's offered only 5 he's better off waiting for the Canucks to qualify him. And Manson probably isn't worth 5 million but he's one of the top defenceman on the FA market and is 6'3 and can throw big hits so somebody is going to pay a bunch of money for him. I know Benning would have

They’re all cap dumps tho which means you need to incentivize teams to take on your overpaid underperforming players. And one of the reasons is the cap isn’t going up like expected projections pre Covid.

What on earth is that habs trade

Did all of you forget that miller had like a 100pts season. He's on a great contract. He's great defensively, defensive reads, interceptions. Great offensively and can score in tight and send nice saucer passes, even long ones too. He can win faceoffs too. He dishes out hits. He does it all.

Not only that the nucks are trading up in that trade theyre sending their first as well which is still a high 15th overall pick.

And how's that relevant ?!
He ain't worth the 1st overall pick 1 for 1
And they could find players twice as good as Dickenson off of waivers FOR FREE in preseason
And as for the 15th pick if you were to trade it based on value charts the 26th 62nd and around the 150th pick will be short to the value of the 15th but if we added a mid 3rd it'll be enough.

So in conclusion, WHAT ON EARTH

Its all relevant when hes a great player and had a great season and still you're getting a first along with him so its not one for one

The breakdown don't make sense, "still getting a 1st" we have 2 !!!!! NOT ONE !!!! we have the 1st and 26th and miller and the 15th don't matter how much secondary mid picks you add isn't even close to be worth it

if the "you're still getting a 1st" is a valid argument how about we trade you the 26th, 62nd 75th and 130th pick for the 15th

Miller with an extension is worth a top 5 pick ... still thinking you getting the 1st overall is dumb

Miller is a rental, MTL isn't a contender and Miller doesn't make them one.
