This is absolutely terrible for Carolina. It shouldn’t take a second to dump Gards, and the Canes aren’t going to their roster from that Edmonton trade.

Pass - canes just sign Necas and TDA to about what Pulj and Barrie get, maybe a tad more. No reason to swap them and get worse while netting a late first that won’t help the team for 3-5 years best case.

Not a chance I'd touch that from an oilers perspective.

I like Necas and think he has a lot of potential, but the plain facts are that he was a significant drag on the Canes on-ice performance this year despite seeing a 61.71 offensive zone starts percentage. Puljujarvi was top 5 in the league for on-ice impact.

This one isn't close. And he though EDMONTON should have to add the 1st? tears of joy

Pulj is fine but Necas’ worst year is better than Pulj best year from a production standpoint. Necas also has a much higher ceiling than Pulj. I’m glad you guys wouldn’t want to do this trade but CAR never considers it bc they’re getting two worse players and the 1st is great but doesn’t help the team anytime soon so no point in taking a step back.

Production is useless if you give up more at the other end. Puljujarvi is the better player and it's not close.

Necas v Puljujarvi

Same can be said about metrics if you can’t produce, especially if you’re playing with guys like McD and Drai. Necas is another class of player. Keep Pulj please!

Will do! Every single player on the Oilers roster had better results when playing with Puljujarvi than without. He's a catalyst for success.

Here's proof. He's a keeper.

That’s great - not sure why he’s such a hot topic for you guys to trade then.

I think he’s a fine player but Canes have plenty of guys who have great underlying metrics but have trouble turning that into goals, so not addressing an area of need and giving up a high skill player in Necas compounds the mistake in my eyes.

I just hope jp wants to stay. He looked much happier this time around than he did his first stint. Won't lie do have some concerns there just the way Holland touched on it. My guess Holland wants to sign but might need to honor an agreement could see being involved when getting him to come back. Come play two years if still want to be moved will do then and now we are at the then stage.
