Ducks aren't giving up stolarz for an injury-prone(d) Kase (for a 2nd stint)

A twenty player roster could get pretty rough.

Stolarz is an AHL backup lol why would the Leafs give anything for that. Just go scout the ECHL and you'll find a better goalie.

Hawks would probably do this deal. Mrazek is still a serviceable goalie.

Kase playing 50 games is valuable for a team like the Ducks at this stage in their rebuild. Free agents usually don't like going to rebuilding teams so they have to acquire rfas or depth players in trades.

You clearly need to look at league wide goal tending stats a bit closer. Statistically Stolarz was the best backup in the league last season when comparing guys that played 20 to 35 games (Stolarz played 28). 1st in SV%, 4th in GAA, 1st in SO, 1st in GSAA and 1st in QS%.

Doing all that while getting paid 50-75% less than almost every one of those other 25 players. And doing all that on a bad Ducks team.

I see you have absolutely no idea who Anthony Stolarz is. @CHAR has some actual facts for you.

Just for fun go to:

https://www.hockey-reference.com/leagues/NHL_2022_goalies.html

Click on the rows for Stolarz, Mrazek and Kallgren and hit the "show only selected" button. Then laugh at the poor leafs. Maybe they *should* start scouting the ECHL for a viable backup!

Kallgren is an AHL goalie, nobody is arguing otherwise. Mrazek had a down year.

Stolarz has been in the NHL for 6 years and has NEVER EVER EVER EVER made it through a full season, he ALWAYS gets sent to the minors. He should just retire its embarrassing how bad he is.

How many AHL games did he play last season exactly? The year before that he did spend a lot of time on the taxi squad but that was undeserved based on play. Unfortunately he had a future Hall of Fame guy named Ryan Miller getting in his way. As an aside, Miller was brutal that season and a big part of the reason the Ducks were a horrible team. Stolarz was the far better goalie of the two, but a good organization isn't going to crap on a HoF'er.

Look, I'm not arguing with you. You don't like the guy and that's A-OK by me. I'm more than happy to keep Stolarz in Anaheim.

Not all goalies develop along a straight path. Jack Campbell is the perfect example of that. Stolarz could be the next Campbell for the Leafs or any team.
