A little pricy from the Sabres perspective
But something in that neighborhood could be possible

Sens fan here. I do that deal if there's an extension in place for DeBrincat. Chicago would be getting some very nice prospects. Greig will be a Brad Marchand-lite, JBD is projected to be a top 4 pairing defensive dman, and the 7OA is a bit of a wildcard, but recent drafts show some very talented NHLers who were taken at 7th (Quinn Hughes, Provorov, Scheifele, Nurse as examples). And you get a serviceable NHL goalie for a couple of seasons.

This would reboot the Blackhawks rebuild asap, while giving the Sens their coveted top 6 winger. What are Chicago fans thinking?

I really don't see Murray as having any positive value between his health/injury/concussion issues and his cap hit. I think without Murray included, it is very close to getting Cat, if not spot on. But with Murray in there, there needs to be more coming back to CHI. On the OTT side, yes, there would definitely have to at least be some preliminary extension talks with Cat and his agent for them to pull the trigger. There is no need for them to give up that much without knowing he will be there long term.

No matter what, CHI's ask for Cat should be very high and stay that way. There is no need to get rid of him otherwise.

Its always hard to give up a homegrown guy who says hes willing to sit through the rebuild, 40 goal scorer, plays 200 feet, wont back down from a scrap, etc etc. I think the value is fair. But I dont know that I would trade him unless we got an absurd over pay, just as a personal preference. In my mind, chances are none of the guys we get are going to produce the way debrincat is, and if the goal is bedard, we're going to be a bottom 5 team regardless because we wont have fleury back. You also alienate a lot of fans, lose ticket revenue, less jerseys being bought, etc etc. Theres a lot to go into it. TLDR, I think the value is fair, but in trading Debrincat, I would want more than fair

Going forward, this is probably a good move, and I liked the value. BUT, it would hurt. Cat's defensive game has come a long way and he's really more than a 40 goal scorer. He's a pretty well rounded 200 ft player despite his size. I wouldn't be upset to see the hawks keep him and build around him, but I think given what he will need paid in a few years a trade like this certainly makes sense.

Isles would definitely do that, are the hawks good with it?

I don't think Kaner is though. Full NMC.

I'm ok with a full tear down...as this suggests. I tend to agree with @Garak . If we're taking on Murray. He's owed a F ton of money. Us Capfriendly people don't pay the actual bills, but they do. I tend to think that TBL 2nd should be a conditional 1st with respect to Debrincat's production and drop the retention.

What everyone else is saying. If the TBL 2nd round pick is put in there, that means the Hawks own 4 of the next 6 TBL first two round draft picks in the next 3 years lol.
