Hahah I agree. His contract isn't great but he is basically the perfect Bouwmeester replacement for Parayko. I thought about trading him to a 3rd team to retain 50% but that seemed too costly for a team to retain for 4 years. Works for this year in my world above but also likely forces us to lose one or two of Kyrou, Thomas, Tarasenko, O'Reilly next year with no replacement besides internally.

I've wanted McDonagh for years, but I don't see how we can justify paying 26 million dollars a year for the next three years (at least) on four defensemen who are not really top pairing guys. We're so handcuffed to make moves as it is
