Seems like a bit of an overpay for DeBrincat

I wonder what else would need to be added to get Chicago to retain half of DeBrincat’s salary for the 1 year. I mean, that extra 3.2mil could be used very effectively. Canes could give a more competitive offer for Forsberg to entice him to come here. They could get a better quality 3LD instead of Dermott if they choose not to resign Smith or just promote from Chicago. And, they could run a full roster. I don’t think Chicago would mind retaining 3.2mil for 1 year if it meant getting another asset in return.

1 for 1, dermott and bear, maybe adding on the car side because I personally think that dermott is better than bear and bear is seen as lower in the organization

That pick is going the wrong way in the Dermott Bear trade.

Not commenting on the value but this offer doesn't meet the hawks needs at all. The pick is gonna be very late. The prospects are good not great. And if they had any interest in necas they would just keep the much better version of necas that's only a year older. Not close if you ask me. Easily beaten by teams like new jersey and Ottawa.
