Don't acquiesce to Wings fans. Pettersson is worth a 2nd + mid-level prospect. He's a very good 2nd pairing dman signed to a reasonable contract for three years and is now in his prime years.

I don't think that we're willing to give up on Max Comtois just yet. Check back with us at the trade deadline.

It's really amazing how clueless people are on here. I'm not sure what they think very good 2nd pairing dmen go for.

I think it depends on the market, it has been high recently so I could see him getting a second, especially if Chiarot got a 1st, but it is tough to predict

I'd hate to trade him, too, but we can thank Rutherford for the position the Pens are in. We can't afford to move an RHD's and Pettersson has the highest value in an area we have a surplus.

People on here like to argue Pettersson's contract, but $4M for a 2nd pairing dman is the going rate and it's for three years; that's strong value.

It's not that Pettersson is bad, it's more that POJ can fill in and play at relatively the same level for 3 mil cheaper

It's similar with Marino too, it's not that he's bad, but he's one of our only trade chips with good value. I'm not thrilled trading him, but I would do it to give the team a much needed shakeup in other areas or to replace Malkin

A lot more than he is worth imo — can’t see Verbeek wanting to deal him while his value is ‘down’ plus I see Comtois as a player right up Verbeek’s alley on play style

Get the man on a line with Zegras and Terry and he will be back to his old self

The Pens can afford to move Pettersson because of their other players on the left side. The Pens are much thinner on the right side and can't afford to move Marino.

I'm jealous, Trevor Zegras is insane, wish he were on the Pens

As long as we sign Letang I am fine with replacing Marino with someone like Manson or Zadorov. If Letang goes then that's another story.

There are a whole boatload of LD available this summer with so many teams in cap trouble. Detroit is one of the few teams looking to acquire a LD that also have the cap to do it and if one team is asking too much there are several other teams willing to sell for a lower price. It's a buyers market this summer.
