I like the acquisitions, not so high on the price, it seems like a bit much imo.

Love the fit of Chychrun and 3OA, I mocked up something similar.

Agree on the price being a bit high. I think Chychrun slots onto the right side. Having Gavvy playing on the 3rd pair just doesn't make sense, he's too good. Chychrun and Boqvists shooting ability also put them as natural complements to the playdriving of both Gavrikov and Werenski. If we switch to a more fluid d pairing system I can see your lineup working very well if you swap Chychrun and Gavvy. In offensive situations Chychrun would flex onto either Gavvy or Z's off side. I also think getting back a late 1st or early 2nd from Arizona would be some necessary insurance for this draft, especially if we're giving up Tex who is the only prospect we have that plays the way he does. I would also feel more comfortable if we simply swapped him for Robinson in the trade as is. I'd also maybe swap Boqvist for the 6 (and maybe more or different adjustments) if we can get Jiricek there. I don't think there's a way we know that though. That would give us a big and talented D corps that I would feel very confident in going forward.

That being said I'd do quite a lot to make this deal happen. Cooley fits so well around our core and contention window.

I like the assets we're getting, but I feel like we're spending too much and I don't think Arizona is going to think of those as good enough.

We’re constantly telling people to look at the ratio of a trade. If there’s a lot of assets on one side, reconsider the trade. This is one of those. I’d also want to keep Texier. Take out Bean and Texier, upgrade to Boqvist.

Portzline wrote an article in the Athletic today quoting Kekalainen saying they probably aren't moving up, since the price is too high (6th + 12th OA). Doesn't mean it isn't happening, though.

From Arizona's point of view it doesn't make sense, with the need for elite talent (especially at C) and already having 7 picks in the top 45. The value here is more or less fair, but not a trade Arizona makes.

Seth Jones was traded for 4 assets, so kinda overrules this thought.

Also, CBJ have value in wings that they can’t fit in the lineup, makes sense to try to move some for the talent they need in the middle and back end.
