Bs rebuild attempt and hard cope

Created by: MelonVK
Team: 2022-23 Boston Bruins

Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
I made this in an effort to cope with the unecessary headcoach sacking and the inevitable perpetuation of poor FA signings -> buyouts of said signings -> new terrible signings.
I think some not-too-distant additions in Hall and Smith have been excellent, but I don't think there was any plan except grabbing what you could and what names sounded cool. Sweeney is an exceptionally poor GM and we're probably about to see this team implode...

...But maybe there's a way not to:

Let's take advantage of not only Hall being on the team, but Boston being Boston and somehow always ducking a full/long rebuild through luck or other circumstances.

Just give Bergeron whatever he wants for one more year to help onboard the youngsters. Hell - let's even have him rotate on the top 2 lines right wing and just literally instruct the C how to play.

Let's separate trades into ones you think I'm an idiot for creating and ones you think I should receive the chair for. Thanks for keeping it civil!

The LA trade is something to laugh at

DeBrusk rescinded his trade request, why would EDM want him now??

I don't know how you did it, but you've managed to make a bunch of trades that favor Boston... and still come out with a much worse team. It's amazing.

The Oilers don't have 2nd, 3rd, or 4th round picks this year. Ken Holland won't trade his 2022 1st round pick in order to dump Kassian's contract. If he has to, he may trade away a a prospect like Dmitri Samorukov. That's a solid two-way LD who is near NHL ready but is stuck behind Nurse, Kieith, Broberg, Niemelainen, and probably a UFA. I figure Kassian + Samorukov for a 4th or 5th round pick.

I really have no clue how Clark has developed, just swap him for someone more appropriate then!

How much Edmonton wants DeBrusk should have very little to do with DeBrusks desire to leave, no?

While I think it's unlikely 2nd + Holtz will exceed Pastrnak in value, I understand. This is mostly a suggestion I've seen floated on twitter a bunch, with 2OA/Holtz/+ for Pasta

Edmonton had interest in DeBrusk in like last offseason, they don't want him now. Either way, DeBrusk seems happy with Boston so far
